Meet Stacy Kohlmeier
Stacy Kohlmeier’s story begins in Kinsley, Kansas, where she was raised with a strong sense of community, responsibility, and hard work. Those early values would shape a career defined not only by professional success, but by a steady commitment to making life better for others.
After earning her business degree from Fort Hays State University, Stacy followed in her father’s footsteps and joined Kansas Power and Light, now known as Evergy. What began as a first step into the workforce became a 17-year journey through a variety of management roles. Along the way, she developed a reputation for steady leadership, thoughtful decision-making, and a focus on serving both customers and colleagues well.
Her career path eventually led her back to community in a new way. As Economic Development Director for the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce, Stacy shifted her focus to strengthening local business, supporting growth, and helping shape the future of the region she had come to call home.
That same commitment carried into her next chapter at Florence Corporation, a Gibraltar Industries company. Over more than two decades, Stacy helped guide the company through growth and change, leading teams across sales, marketing, product and market development, and customer experience. She retired in 2026 as Vice President of Customer Experience, leaving behind a legacy of collaboration, innovation, and results.
But Stacy’s work has never been limited to her professional roles. Throughout the years, she has consistently stepped forward to serve, contributing her time and leadership to a wide range of community organizations. From the Manhattan Arts Center and Public Library to United Way, the Boys and Girls Club, and Homecare and Hospice, and her involvement reflects a deep belief in giving back. Today, she continues that service as a Trustee of the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation and the Fort Hays State University Foundation, while also serving on the Midwest Dream Car Collection board and the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce board and executive committee.
After more than 40 years in Manhattan, Stacy’s connection to the community runs deep. She is known for her ability to bring people together, simplify complex challenges, and focus on what matters most, helping organizations work better so communities can thrive.
At the center of it all is family. Stacy and her husband, Lowell, built their life in Manhattan, raising their two sons, Grant and Drew. It is that same sense of home, commitment, and shared future that continues to guide her work today on behalf of the people of Kansas’ 67th District.
